BRADLEY WRACHER '21

I began my investigation by trying to make a landscape architecture that can have a positive impact on the world. I created architectural renderings through 3D software of architectural forms that I noticed had contained abstract qualities. The more that I was creating, the more I became attracted to the abstract forms within my works. The more that I became attracted to these abstract qualities the more that I would experiment and try to push the limits of what I could do using 3D prints, wood, tooth picks, dowels, and many found objects. As I continued my work I learned that I can use abstract forms to accomplish my original goal of uniting people. After finishing my architectural works, I would experiment with their orientation, like hanging them vertically on the wall, or suspending them. I then used my background of architecture and everything I had gathered from experimentation to entirely 3D abstract landscape forms. Everything I had learned led me to ask myself, what is the role of abstraction in urban landscape and architecture?
